This morning as I stayed home to pump, Tim headed to the hospital and they had just removed the high frequency ventilator, and put Isabella on the conventional ventilator. We were rejoicing and just so blessed to see that she was improving so much and that she was able to start breathing on her own, part time.
The kids and I headed down the mountain this afternoon and got to the hospital to find out that our good friends, Pastor Frank and Paula, had been there earlier praying over Isabella. Paula said that Frank snuck some anointing oil on his finger and anointed her incubator. I was so touched to hear this. And as I walked in to see Isabella, our Pastor, Steve Lamm, was just finishing up praying for her, too. She has had a stream of wonderful people coming in and praying and it is truly humbling.
Karizma and I went in to see her and she looked so peaceful on the regular ventilator. We both think she is the cutest thing ever and we loved that she looked 'better' just because she wasn't vibrating anymore due to the high frequency one. Her nurse tells me that hopefully, as well as Isabella is doing, she can come off all the ventilators tomorrow night, but most likely Monday. We are so happy! Then, Grandmom and Grandad arrive to spend some time with Isabella. I go into the 'pumping' room to go pump some more.
When I finish and head over to the NICU to hand over my breast milk, I notice about 5 nurses surrounding Isabella's incubator. I don't dare go in alone and go look for Tim. We return to have all the nurses beaming at us when we come in and tell us that they had just removed her from ALL the ventilators! My jaw must have hit the floor. It was just 20 minutes before that the nurse was hoping for tomorrow night! God is bigger than our plans, even our hopes, and definitely our fears! But, to top this emotionally high moment, the nurse says that sometimes when babies come off the ventilators, they have a really hard time, so although it is frowned upon for babies to be held when they have all the lines still in their umbilical cord, she wanted me to hold Isabella to try and stabilize her. My heart must have skipped several beats just at the thought of holding my little angel.

As soon as I held her her oxygen levels remained at 100, which we hadn't seen them do yet. They did hit 100 after she was removed from the high frequency ventilator, but once I held her, they remained there. I must tell you this was one of the highest moments of my life. I was so overcome and so in awe of how loving God is. But, this little one almost weighs 10 pounds now, so my arm started to get tired really fast. However, I held her(For 30 minutes!) until they said she needed to get back in bed. It was sweet to see her open her eyes and cry. Oh, how that was music to my ears! I will also say that she is feisty. When the nurse put her on her tummy she picked her head up and let out several whines until she was turned back around. I love the spunk in this little girl. She reminds me of her mama.
Please continue to pray. We would love to have her adorning that bassinet soon! BTW, I have noticed several new people coming to visit our blog. Thank you all for stopping by, commenting, and praying. I am encouraged as to how the body of Christ has been rallying around our Isabella. It is such a blessing. Welcome new friends!!

I am so happy to hear she is off the ventilators!! Hallelujah!!!
she is precious. Can't wait to meet this 10lb little spunky!
Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment.
Matthew 9:22
Again, you are making me cry. I just know how precious it is to finally be able to hold your little one without having to worry about a ventilator or extra Oxygen. Praise the Lord that He is healing your baby girl!
Veronica- Praise the Lord. He is so good. She is precious and I can imagine how you felt holding her. I know how tired you must be so hang in there and try to rest. Oh a new little life to be in love with. The heavenly feeling of that is priceless huh? Praying for Isabella.

PTL! I rejoice with you. Hang in there, it is almost over. Soon she will be home and life will be that much sweetier with your little one added to the new family mix.
Our prays and hopes are with you. We so much can not wait to meet the new Princess in our family. First came Jessica then came Kari and finally after all these years we have Grace. Don't get me wrong all the boys are the BEST, I have Diego, but if i could have had a third child i would have wanted another girl. We must always rememer that a little Pray goes a long way, and our little Isabella has already began her walk with the Lord(a Great Warrior who has brought many together in pray). Please tell Tim "Happy Father Day" from Yuma and what a wonderful Father's day gift the Lord has given him. We miss you very much.

Oh Veronica...I haven't visited you in several days and had no idea that you were on this journey with your sweet Isabella Grace. And she is so beautiful! I would have been on my knees in fervent prayer. You have been on my mind and in my prayers anyway, as I knew you were awaiting the arrival of your princess. But, I had no idea that all of this was going on. I will definitely keep you both in prayer. Blessings to your family...
Praise God. he is so good. We love you all. Tara and the boys
Ohhh, she is very beautiful. She definitely looks like she is going to have a lighter complexion. Funny, I am just like you wondering what my kids are going to look like when I was pregnant with them, like me or their daddy. Most of mine, look just like daddy (the bluish green eyes and lighter hair). You little one is absolutely adorable.
Good to hear she is off the ventilators and you got to hold her. Praise the Lord. Praying she'll be home soon in her own little bed.
Blessings from Florida,
chris

Praying that now she is off the ventilator and will soon be on her way up that mountain! :)
Hugs!!!!
Oh... she is just adorable! Still praying!
