Our Princess Has Arrived And Needs Your Prayers

As most of you may have heard, our sweet Isabella Grace made her entrance into the world (by ambulance, I might add) yesterday at 6:48am, on the 8 freeway, weighed in at 8.15 lbs, is 22 inches long, and is every bit a little doll. We are so blessed and excited to be welcoming her into our family. I really wish that this email could include pictures and our fun birth story, but I am actually reaching out to you for prayer.

Last night as we were just minutes away from being discharged and heading up our mountain, they discovered that Isabella's oxygen levels were very low, and she needed to be admitted to the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) to have her put under an oxygen hood for her levels to go back up. We were given several reasons as to why this might be happening, but the most likely being that she had aspirated some of the meconium (this means she had a bowel moment while she was still in utero) in the bag of water when she was born. They said she would need to be in the NICU for about 2-3 days, but unfortunately, things were to get worse before they got better, as the doctor said most of these cases do.

By around midnight they had to put her on a ventilator and sedate her because her levels were very, very low and she was breathing way too fast for her little body to handle. Then within a couple of hours they had to put her on another type of ventilator (high frequency) since the first one wasn't doing the job. Seems our little robust princess was fighting that ventilator, in the sense that she was trying to breathe against it and she kept going into distress. She had a rough night, and God blessed Tim and I with a room to stay in right in the NICU, so we did not have to be away from her. Praise Jesus! This morning seems she started to remain stable and has been stable all day. They do foresee her being in the NICU for 7-10 days. Tim and I are going to spend the night in the NICU again tonight.

We would really appreciate that you please pray for our Bella. That God's healing hand be over her and that Tim and I use this opportunity for God's glory. That you please pray that we be able to come home sooner than later, but also that we be content with God's will and continue to see how he has been in every detail where our little girl is concerned. There are so many little things that we have seen happening in our little girl's favor, but I don't have much more time.

Thank you prayer warriors for interceding in our newest arrows behalf. God bless your humbleness!!

I am praying right now too. Our second child also aspirated meconium during birth and had to stay in the NICU for a few extra days. He was sent home on oxygen for 4 more weeks. It was a scary time, but the Lord was with us and protected Luke, who is now a very healthy 10 year old. I pray the same for little Bella. May the Lord give you His peace during this time of stress and of being away from your other kids.

I can't wait to hear the birth story! It sounds exciting!

Father God, heal this baby girl! Thank you that she has arrived. Be with this precious family. Let them feel your very presence in that room. Bless them, Father! In Jesus' Healing Name, Amen.

I know how scary this is. Our fifth child had a breathing problem when he was first born. I hated seeing him with all those tubes and not being able to nurse him was agony. I will continue to pray that baby and you will be home soon.

I just read back over your post....thank the Lord you all hadn't left yet!! I know it isn't good that you have to still be there, but I'm so glad the Lord is in control and He watches over us-and knows what's going to happen! I got a blessing thinking about that!

Veronica,

Lifting up your sweet angel, God's perfect creation to our Savior and asking the Great Physician to heal her completely of everything that may not be functioning properly. May God's Holy Spirit hold her in the palm of his hands until she is safely at home in your arms.

Much love...
