Zack's gift was given to him by Walker. Walker's first idea was a slinky, then he went to a microphone, but when he saw this dinosaur, he couldn't resist. Zack loves him! (Walker did lots of extra chores around the house to earn the cash for his gift.)
Christian's gift was given to him by Karizma. She seemed to know exactly what to get him, and he has been playing with that overgrown frisbee EVERYDAY. It is a family favorite, actually. (Karizma used some of her birthday money to bless her little brother.)
Walker's gift was given to him by Miguel. Miguel also knew exactly what his little brother would want. If you could only see all the little circle marks all over the windows at our house. They have even tried to get Daddy between the eyes with this nerf shot gun. (Miguel used some of his allowance to buy his gift for Walker.)
Karizma's gift was given to her by Christian. Tim took him shopping for it. I had told Tim to make sure and let Christian pick it out all by himself. He said that Christian wanted to get her a game. They went to the game aisle at Target, and he saw the Deal or No Deal box and went for that one right away. He knows Karizma well. I love that they do know their siblings so well and I will do the secret santa thing every year from now on. (Christian had no cash, did no extra chores, but picked the most expensive gift by far.)
Miguel's gift was given to him by our little Zack. I took Zack to Walmart and stuck him in the middle of the aisle way by paper products. Not on purpose...just happened to be there when I remembered that he still had not picked out his gift for his big brother. I didn't think he would get the idea of the secret santa, but went through the motions anyway. "Now, Zack, you have to pick a gift for Miguel, ok? Whatever you want, ok, Buddy?" He listened, and started to walk past the paper towels, paper plates. He turned the corner and walked past cleaning products. I asked him, "See anything for Miguel yet?" He did not answer, but had a certain determination in his step. I thought to myself, this could go on forever. He rounded that aisle and was about to head down aisle #3, when he stopped, turned to one of the end bins. You know, the ones that usually have stuff on sale or clearance...except that this one had air freshener on it. He stops, studies the shelves, and says, very clearly I might add, "This one!" and picks the 'fresh linen' scent. I was laughing so hard, I am sure everyone in Walmart heard me and thought I was some mad woman standing in front of the Glade products. We all got a HUGE laugh out of it on Christmas morning, because the gift was just so fitting. Love you, Miguel. So, even the littlest of the crew knew what the secret santa experience entailed, and I doubt anyone could have done a better job!! (Zack used some of the birthday money he had just received to pay for that lovely can of spray.)
Next Christmas' exchange should be really funny since one of the kids will only be 5 months old. However, I doubt any exchange will ever top Zack's pick for Miguel this year. It still makes me crack up...

that's really cute, and a great idea, I think I may try that this year too.
sounds like the secret santa was a huge success! Hope you're feeling well and have plenty of energy!
That is sweet how all the kids picked out their own gift for a sibling! What a good idea.
I was laughing reading your comment...I get the comments, too on how big I am. They are also my personal favorites...every woman loves to hear how fat they are! This one older lady at my church was asking if I was bigger this time than ever....then proceeded to tell me I look miserable!! Thank you....just what I wanted to hear! :-)I, too have gotten the twins comment...that makes you feel great. You have to just laugh at people...otherwise you'd be crying all the time! :-)
Oh soooo cute!!! Those gifts are so fitting. I love the Secret Santa gifts. Gabe's family does this too and we have so much fun opening them. Hey, I loved talking about the Chargers with K in the nursery yesterday. She really knows her stuff!
Thanks for the comment..and for your prayers. I am a little nervous this time...I guess I'm getting older and wiser-usually I'm just so excited I don't even feel scared at all! I've been up since 2:30...
are you going to call her Isabella or Isabella Grace or just Grace???
Hey, Jennifer...my husband is being very exact about this...it is terribly cute. He wants everyone to pronounce it like you would in spanish..so, EEE-saw-bella. Since I am a 'brownie' and he is a 'whitey', we are hoping for a cute mix, but it seems that our kids keep getting lighter and lighter as they come, HA HA! I have been calling her Isabella Grace..and I am totally open to someone calling her Grace, too, because I just love that name, always have. But, I have a feeling that she will get lots of 'Bella' and 'Belle', too.
