Hooked On Phonics

I didn't think it would happen this quickly, but it did. Walker is officially a reader!! He read his first book, 'Cat', Sunday night. It came from the Hooked on Phonics set that Grandmom gave him for Christmas. Then yesterday he read 'Rag'. I am so crazy proud, I can't even fully contain it! I am making him read his little books to everyone willing to listen. I love that he wanted to stick with the book until he got each word right. We did have to cover the pictures so that he would not be distracted with them. Karizma said that she watched him all through church on Sunday morning working on one page in his bible. She said he kept saying the g sound, then sounding out the o, then ending it with the d sound. I love that he caught that word on his own, and he is ecstatic that he can now spell GOD on his own. Way to go Walker!
