Sweet Things Come In Five's

...and in sixes, as Jennifer knows, and I will soon find out. And also in sevens as Claire knows and Cassie-Ann will soon find out...but today is about becoming a mommy of 5...

Song for a Fifth Child.

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

I recently read this on another blog and have been saving it. I loved how it applied to me and our children, especially our 5th child, Zack (Especially the part about his eyes having the most wonderful hue). But, now I can post it to commemorate my sweet SIL's 5th child, due in December!!! Congratulations, Natalie and Dan on your 5th arrow on the way. You guys are my heroes...5 kiddos, 6 and under. Not a task that many can take on. God sure knew who to appoint this job to. Way to keep being fruitful and multiplying, Sister. xoxo (Genesis 1:28)

"Oh, Come on, Nat... You know you want to have a public viewing of your next birth!!!! We could put it on YouTube!!!"

Please join me in congratulating Natalie!!

Hi Veronica,

Thanks for the comment! Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about MckMama's Caption Contests. :)

I was reading Heather McFadden's blog today (we live in the same town and aren't super close, but I've met her and fellowshiped with her a couple of times...) and when I commented noticed your blog, then here you go and comment on my blog tonight! Small world. Do you know Heather or just read her blog??

Your children are adorable and congratulations on expecting again!

Ruthie :)
